The Bronchoscopy in Intensive Care (BrIC) ‘TOTAL AIRWAY BRONCHOSCOPY’ course is a multidisciplinary, one-day, hands-on training bronchoscopy course for those involved in acute and critical care (anaesthetics, intensive care, emergency medicine and acute medicine). It is designed to improve bronchoscopy practice for ICU, anaesthetic, and acute care indications, including upper airway management and lower airway diagnostics and therapy. Areas covered include preparation, handling, dexterity, navigation, sampling, foreign body retrieval, airway haemorrhage control, percutaneous tracheostomy and bronchoscopy in the non-intubated patient. There is a large emphasis on simulated scenarios, patient safety and team working.

The BrIC Total Airway Bronchoscopy Course delivers workshop based, hands-on practice, allowing course participants to attain competency acquisition through interaction with various bronchoscopy simulation models including established and new virtual reality and artificial intelligence systems. The highly experienced international faculty will be running the varied skills stations.

Participants:
Suitable for core anaesthetic/ACCS trainees, registrars and consultants in ICU, Anaesthesia and Acute Medicine, nurses and ACCPs, particularly those with an interest in Intensive Care Medicine or advanced airway skills.
