City Visitor Charge

The Manchester Accommodation Business Improvement District (ABID) initiative is being introduced in Manchester City Centre and Salford this year. This means that a supplementary ‘City Visitor Charge’ will be required for all visitors who want to stay in Manchester City Centre and Salford. This mandatory charge is £1 + VAT per room per day.

All guest rooms will be required to pay a £1 plus VAT per room per night charge. This will be added to your hotel bill to be settled on check out as a vatable charge. More Info

Please be advised that our hotel bedrooms are currently closed due to refurbishment and will remain closed until early February 2027.

The whole hotel, including our conference facilities, will close from 11 October 2026 until early February 2027.

We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming guests back once the refurbishment is complete.

Mercure Manchester Excellent central Manchester location. Excellent check in and client relations by Becky. Great British breakfast in the mornings! Rooms are clean and good value. WiFi in the hotel could do with improvement but overall a good experience.

Not over whelmed Room was very good - the experience was ok, I couldn’t understand the gentlemen on the front desk as he spoke so low, the room was excellent, bed was massive and comphy, shower was excellent and well worth the money but breakfast let it down, eggs, mushroom cold, bacon tasted funny but the beans where hot !

Excellent as usual! Excellent one night stay. Easy check in, very clean room and a perfect breakfast. Staff as excellent as always. We have used this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. Will be returning soon. The bar is also very good. We have not eaten here but the menu looks very nice.

Amazing staff 4th time staying here now coming over with my son for matches , had an issue tonight with our lock , staff went above and beyond to fix this , to name them rukhsana , niam and Zohaib , to even offer us complimentary drinks even though the issue was our own fault , will definitely return again
